Betty Mae Burchell, Age 85, formerly of Hamilton, died July 12, 2012 in Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Florida.  She was born in on March 3, 1927 in Hamilton, the daughter of Henry J. and Ollie (Murrell) Hayes.  She married Robert W. Burchell in December 1988 and he preceded her in death.  She had been employed as a Butler County Sheriff, retiring in 1989.  She was a member of Moose Lodge Auxiliary, Chapter 1843, Pine Island, Florida.  She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Saunders, Cape Coral; her son, Terry James, Hamilton; five sisters, Poly Bohlen, Burnadett Bradley, Minnie Holland and Diane Corbin all of Hamilton and Georgia Davidson, Manchester, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Lisa Marie Franco, Pismo Beach, California, Len Calderwood, Punta Gorda, Florida, Terri James, Hamilton and three great grandchildren, Terry Calderwood, Harley Calderwood and Jewlia Calderwood.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Alfred Hayes, Ross and four sisters, Goldie Brewer, South Point, Ohio, Clara Davidson, Beulah Mills and Irene Smith all of Hamilton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1285 Main Street, with Pastor Kevin Jud officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m.
