Mabel I. King, age 98, of Hamilton, died July 17, 2010 at Westover Retirement Center. She was born on July 15, 1912 in Eldred, Illinois the daughter of Otis C. and Ada (Hoots) Smith. She married Gerald King on September 8, 1932 in Carrollton, Illinois and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2006. Mabel was a homemaker and a member of the Eldred Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Underwood and husband Richard; two grand daughters, Karen Underwood Kramer and husband Dave and Gayl Underwood all of Hamilton; one great grandson, Alex Hoelle; sisters-in-law, Rosa Smith of Cummings, Ga. and Alice Chapman of Woodriver, IL. and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH with Jack Young officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to Colonial Foundation, 520 Eaton Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013, for Westover.
