Robert R. Stitzel, age 87, of Fairfield, died Monday, February 8, 2010 at Hospice of Hamilton.  He was born on April 2, 1922 in Reily Township, the son of Clyde and Emma (Miller) Stitzel.  He married Mabel Gibson on April 2, 1949 in Millville, Ohio.  He was an independent truck driver and farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports; especially baseball and basketball.  He is survived by his wife, Mabel; three sons, Wayne Stitzel and wife Kathy, Michael Stitzel and wife Mary and Patrick Stitzel; all of Hamilton; a sister, Melba Keehner and husband Lee of West Chester, OH; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.  Funeral service will be Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton with Rev. Edwin Beck officiating.  Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.  Thanks to Dr. Davin and Hamilton Hospice staff for their excellent care.
