Barbara S. (Bobbie) Farthing, age 67 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, July 30, 2012.  She was born in Hamilton on August 16, 1944, the daughter of Garney and Florence (Russell) Farthing.  She is survived by four daughters, Eugenia (Richard) Richmond of Hamilton, Anita (Scott) Lee of Oxford, Larissa Purvis of Hamilton, Kimberly Hamblin of Hamilton; one son, Gregory (Denise) Hamblin of Cincinnati; fourteen Grandchildren, Ashley and Sarah Hall, Cody, Amber and Courtney Richmond, Caitlyn and Austin Lee, Brandi Hale, Kayla (Marcus) Philpot and Megan Beach, Wesley Breedlove and Jacob Hamblin, Bridgette and Maria Hamblin; three great grandchildren, Madalyn, Bentley and baby Logan (on the way).  She is also survived by one brother, James and special sister-in-law, Edith Farthing of Hamilton and a special and dear friend, Joan Grant (and family) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her precious daughter, Sonia Hall.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, Garney and Florence (Russell) Farthing; six brothers, Garney Farthing Jr., Dale Farthing, Donald Farthing, Paul Farthing, George Farthing and Charles Farthing; four sisters, Pearla Farthing, Dorothy Lovins, Betty Carter and Phyllis Carroll; and a special sister-in-law and dear friend, Mae Smith of the Hamblin family.  She was married to Carl Hamblin of Hamilton for 25 years and had the privilege of being part of the Hamblin family as they will always hold a special place in her heart.  Bobbie was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  Her family was her life.  She was loving and selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own needs and giving the extra effort to help in any way she could.  She gave of herself to care for her family whenever the need arose and asked for nothing but their love in return.  Special thanks go to the staffs of Interim Health Care and Hospice of Southwest Ohio along with Megan Beach and Rhonda Chansler for their care and comfort during her illness.  Funeral services will be on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH with Rev. Dave Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
