Edward Ray “Buck” Stewart, 48, of West Union, SC, husband of Deborah Imhoff Stewart, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at his home. A native of Hamilton, OH, Mr. Stewart was the son of Robert and Faye Richardson Stewart. He was a talented football player with the Hamilton Big Blue, and was one of the first chosen to travel through Europe with the Up With People musical group. Mr. Stewart had served as a baseball coach for the Walhalla Recreation Department, and was the recipient of several “Shining Lights” Awards for his Christmas decorations. Eddie was a member of the Allison Avenue Baptist Church in Hamilton, OH. and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid fisherman, and loved playing darts, he always enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with his family and his two loving dogs, Puppers and Spottail. In addition to his wife, and parents Eddie is survived by his only son; Storm Stewart of West Union, sister; Tracy Caldwell and husband Tim of Hamilton, OH, brother; Joshua Stewart and wife Angie of Covington, KY, three nieces; Samantha Cappella, Haley and Savannah Caldwell, two nephews; Josh Gray and Hayden Stewart. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his grandmother Jewell Bell Richardson and a brother Ralph Edward Stewart. The family will receive friends Monday July 23, 2012 at Davenport Funeral Home in Walhalla, SC from 6PM to 8PM. The family will also receive friends Wednesday July 25, 2012 at Weigel Funeral Home in Hamilton, OH, from 5PM to 8PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 26, 2012 at Weigel Funeral Home at 10AM, with burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank; The Cancer Center Staff, The staff at Oconee Infusion Center, Dr. G and Dr.V, and Kim Baxter, Shannon Freeman, and Robin Petro. Immediately following the burial at Rose Hill, the Stewart family would like to invite all in attendance to gather at Allison Avenue Baptist Church for a celebration of life luncheon.
