Norma Jane (Keppler) Zugehoer

Zugehoer, Norma Jane (Keppler) was called home at the age of 88 at Berkeley Square Special Care Unit on July 6, 2012. Born September 8, 1923, in Hamilton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Edward and Cora E (Bottles) Keppler. After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1941, she went on to graduate from Cincinnati Business College then joined the workforce. She was married to Alfred R. Zugehoer on November 28, 1942. She spent the next 37 years raising her children and caring for her aging parents and in-laws. She returned to work in 1979 and went on to retire from Elder Beerman after 14 years of service. She was a dedicated member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church where she had attended since 1925. For many years she volunteered her time in the ministry to the elderly and shut-ins. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred R Zugehoer in 1987. She is survived by her loving children, her son, AE Bud (Susan) Zugehoer of Hebron, KY, her daughters Susan (Neal) Horning of Amelia, OH and Deborah Harms of Liberty Twp; her five grandchildren Kaye (Chris) Walters, Brian (Jennifer) Horning, Brian (Vicki) Hayes, Greg (Debbie) Hayes, Sarah (Bill) Kugel, and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati, and a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Special Care Unit of Berkeley Square of Hamilton, who devotedly cared for Norma and her family while she was a resident there. They are truly angels of mercy. Visitation will be held at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd in Hamilton, Ohio on Tuesday, July 10th 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. with funeral service following. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to The Colonial Foundation / Berkeley Square Employee Activities Fund, 520 Eaton Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
